Canadian History Since World War I (Grade 10 – College Preparation)

This course explores social, economic, and political developments and events and their impact on the lives of different groups in Canada since 1914. Students will examine the role of conflict and cooperation in Canadian society, Canada's evolving role within the global community, and the impact of various individuals, organizations, and events on Canadian identity, citizenship, and heritage.

Unit 1: Canada and World War I

Students explore Canada's involvement in the First World War and its impact on society.

Unit 2: Canada Between the Wars

Students examine the Great Depression and other social and economic challenges.

Unit 3: Canada and World War II

Students investigate Canada's contributions during the Second World War.

Unit 4: Social and Political Change in Canada

Students explore social movements and changes in Canadian society.

Unit 5: Canada Today

Students examine modern issues affecting Canadian society.

Unit 6: Culminating History Project

Students complete a project exploring an important historical topic related to Canada.
