Canadian History Since World War I (Grade 10 – University Preparation)

This course explores social, economic, and political developments and events and their impact on the lives of different groups in Canada since 1914. Students will examine the role of conflict and cooperation in Canadian society, Canada's evolving role within the global community, and the impact of various individuals, organizations, and events on Canadian identity, citizenship, and heritage.

Unit 1: Canada and the First World War

Students examine Canada's involvement in World War I and its impact on Canadian society.

Unit 2: Canada Between the Wars

Students explore political, economic, and social developments in Canada during the interwar period.

Unit 3: Canada and the Second World War

Students investigate Canada's role in World War II and its effects on Canadian identity and global relations.

Unit 4: Post-War Canada and Social Change

Students examine social, political, and economic changes in Canada after World War II.

Unit 5: Canada in the Modern World

Students explore Canada's evolving role in global affairs and domestic issues.

Unit 6: Culminating Historical Investigation

Students complete a final research project analyzing an important historical event or development in Canada.
