Dance (Grade 10)

This course provides opportunities for students to explore dance as an art form and as a means of personal expression. Students will develop movement skills and explore the elements of dance through performance and choreography.

Unit 1: Foundations of Dance Technique

Students develop fundamental dance techniques and explore the elements of movement.

Unit 2: Dance Styles and Cultural Traditions

Students examine dance styles from various cultures and historical contexts.

Unit 3: Choreography and Creative Expression

Students create original dance compositions using choreographic tools and techniques.

Unit 4: Performance and Stage Presence

Students develop performance skills including expression, timing, and stage awareness.

Unit 5: Dance and Society

Students explore the role of dance as a form of communication and cultural expression.

Unit 6: Culminating Dance Performance

Students present a final dance performance demonstrating their technical and creative skills.
