Dramatic Arts (Grade 12)

This course requires students to experiment individually and collaboratively with forms and conventions of drama.

Unit 1: Dramatic Theory and Performance

Students explore dramatic theories, forms, and conventions while refining their performance skills.

Unit 2: Script Analysis

Students interpret dramatic texts and examine character, theme, and structure through close analysis.

Unit 3: Character Development

Students develop complex characters using voice, movement, and emotional interpretation.

Unit 4: Production and Stagecraft

Students investigate technical theatre elements such as lighting, costume, sound, and staging.

Unit 5: Creating Original Dramatic Works

Students collaborate to develop, rehearse, and refine original dramatic performances.

Unit 6: Culminating Theatre Production

Students participate in a final dramatic production demonstrating their artistic, technical, and collaborative skills.
