This course emphasizes consolidation of the literacy, communication, and critical and creative thinking skills necessary for success in academic and daily life. Students will analyze a range of challenging literary texts from various periods, countries, and cultures; interpret and evaluate informational and graphic texts; and create oral, written, and media texts in a variety of forms.

Unit 1: Literary Analysis and Critical Interpretation

Students analyze complex literary texts and develop advanced critical reading skills.

Unit 2: Shakespearean and Classical Literature

Students explore classical literature and dramatic texts while examining themes and literary techniques.

Unit 3: Poetry and Literary Expression

Students analyze poetic forms and develop skills in interpreting figurative language and literary symbolism.

Unit 4: Media Literacy and Contemporary Communication

Students analyze modern media texts and evaluate the influence of media in society.
