Science and Technology

The Grade 2 Science and Technology course encourages students to explore scientific ideas through observation, investigation, and inquiry. Students develop curiosity about the natural world while learning how science and technology influence everyday life. Students are encouraged to ask questions, make predictions, record observations, and share discoveries.

Unit 1: Life Systems

Students investigate how plants and animals grow and change and how living things depend on their environments.

Unit 2: Matter and Energy

Students explore the properties of liquids and solids and investigate how materials behave in different conditions.

Unit 3: Structures and Mechanisms

Students examine how simple structures are built and how they support stability and function.

Unit 4: Inquiry and Technology Skills

Students practice asking scientific questions, observing changes, recording information, and communicating findings.
