The Grade 4 Language course helps students develop stronger reading comprehension, writing organization, and communication skills. Students explore a wide range of literary and informational texts while learning how to analyze ideas, identify key information, and communicate clearly in writing and speech. Students are encouraged to think critically about texts and develop confidence as readers, writers, and communicators.

Unit 1: Reading Development

Students develop reading fluency and comprehension by exploring stories, informational texts, and digital media. They learn strategies to identify main ideas, understand characters and themes, and draw conclusions from texts.

Unit 2: Writing Development

Students organize ideas into clear paragraphs and begin developing multi-paragraph compositions. They practice narrative writing, informational writing, and responses to reading.

Unit 3: Oral Communication

Students participate in discussions, presentations, and collaborative activities that strengthen listening skills and confidence in speaking.

Unit 4: Media Literacy

Students examine how media texts communicate messages and explore how images, sound, and language influence meaning.
