Science and Technology

The Grade 4 Science and Technology course encourages students to investigate scientific concepts through inquiry and experimentation. Students explore natural systems and technological designs while developing curiosity about how science and technology affect everyday life.

Unit 1: Life Systems

Students explore habitats and communities and investigate how living things depend on each other and their environments.

Unit 2: Matter and Energy

Students investigate light and sound and explore how energy travels and interacts with objects.

Unit 3: Structures and Mechanisms

Students examine pulleys and gears and explore how simple machines make work easier.

Unit 4: Earth and Space Systems

Students investigate rocks and minerals and learn how Earth's materials are used in everyday life.

Unit 5: Inquiry and Technology Skills

Students develop investigation skills such as asking questions, planning experiments, recording observations, and communicating results.
