Description

TGI4M online enables students to further develop media knowledge and skills while designing and producing projects in the areas of live, recorded, and graphic communications. Students may work in TV, video, and movie production; radio and audio production; print and graphic communications; photography; digital imaging; broadcast journalism; and interactive new media. Students will also expand their awareness of environmental and societal issues related to communications technology and will investigate career opportunities in a rapidly changing technological environment.

Unit 1: Advanced Animation Principles

Students build on their Grade 11 animation skills, developing advanced techniques in Adobe Animate including complex motion tweening, masking, and frame-by-frame animation for sophisticated digital storytelling.

Unit 2: Interactive Media Design

Students design and develop interactive digital media products, applying principles of user experience and interface design to create engaging and effective interactive content.

Unit 3: Video, Audio, and Broadcast Production

Students develop skills in video and audio production for broadcast and digital contexts, including scripting, recording, editing, and post-production, with a focus on professional standards and quality.

Unit 4: Professional Practice, Ethics, and Careers

Students investigate professional practices, ethical responsibilities, and environmental impacts in the communications technology industry, and explore emerging career pathways and postsecondary options.
