Description

MCT4C online enables students to extend their knowledge of functions. Students will investigate and apply properties of exponential, polynomial, and trigonometric functions; continue to represent functions and develop their facility with simplifying expressions and solving equations; and solve problems addressing applications of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and vectors. Successful completion of this course prepares students for various college technology programs. MCT4C is also a prerequisite for MHF4U.

Unit 1: Exponential Functions

Students investigate and apply properties of exponential functions, connecting algebraic and graphical representations, and applying them to contexts in science and technology.

Unit 2: Polynomial Functions

Students investigate and apply properties of polynomial functions, develop algebraic manipulation skills, and use polynomial models in applied problem-solving contexts.

Unit 3: Trigonometry

Students apply trigonometric functions and identities to solve problems involving angles and periodic phenomena in technology and science applications.

Unit 4: Vectors and Applications

Students explore geometric and algebraic representations of vectors, and apply vector concepts to solve problems involving force, velocity, and direction in technological contexts.
