Music (Grade 12)

This course enables students to enhance their musical literacy through the creation, appreciation, analysis, and performance of music.

Unit 1: Music Theory and Composition

Students strengthen their understanding of music theory and apply compositional techniques to create original works.

Unit 2: Performance Techniques

Students refine vocal or instrumental performance skills through rehearsal, interpretation, and technique development.

Unit 3: Music History and Culture

Students explore music from different historical periods and cultures and consider its social and artistic significance.

Unit 4: Ensemble Collaboration

Students develop collaboration and leadership skills through ensemble rehearsal and performance experiences.

Unit 5: Music Technology

Students examine how digital tools and technology are used in music composition, production, and performance.

Unit 6: Culminating Musical Performance

Students present a final performance or composition demonstrating musical growth, technical skill, and artistic expression.
